Monique’s practice is focused on complex civil litigation and civil appeals on behalf of plaintiffs, with an emphasis on class actions, workers’ and consumers’ rights, and civil rights issues. Monique also serves as a mediator, channeling her decades of legal experience into a highly successful record of resolving disputes between parties.

Monique regularly serves as lead counsel in employment, civil rights and consumer class actions.  She also handles individual employment and civil rights cases at all stages – from compensation and severance negotiations to, where necessary, full scale litigation and trial. She represents a range of workers, from low wage janitors experiencing wage theft or harassment to C-suite executives navigating complex employment issues. Monique is passionate about providing access to justice to workers and victims of discrimination.

Monique has successfully tried individual and class cases, including employment, housing and public accommodation discrimination, predatory lending, and fraud and misrepresentation matters. Of her recent victories, in 2018, Monique obtained a jury verdict of over $5.4 million for a class of laborers engaged in property preservation work and illegally misclassified as independent contractors.
