$18.6 million False Claims case against Covidien

On February 27, 2019, the United States announced that it had reached a settlement with Covidien, a former global health care products company and manufacturer of medical devices.  O&S Partner Christian Schreiber, along with co-counsel Chavez & Gertler LLP and Brown Poore LLP, represented two relators who alleged that Covidien violated the federal False Claims Act by inducing health care providers to purchase medical devices, resulting in the submitting of false claims to Medicare and to the California and Florida Medicaid programs.
